• WasteTec has been assigned to compile a Feasibility Study (FS) regarding the implementation of a modern Anaerobic Digestion (AD)-plant into an existing 50,000 tpa composting plant for SSO-waste (Rhein-Kreis Neuss, NRW). 
Kompostierungsanlage KorschenbroichThe feasibility study aims at the implementation of a modern AD-plant into an existing 50,000 tpa composting plant in order to enhance the potential of material and energy recovery of SSO-waste.
Main aspects to be considered in the FS are technical and ecomonic facets as well as local surroundings. Furthermore the FS aims to identify a suitable technical solution for the recovery of produced biogas, e.g. by means of gas cleaning and gas feeding into the lokal gas grid.
 
 
  • Waste gets the follow-up assignment to refurbish the 2nd. line of the Thermal Air Cleaning unit RTO of the MBT Rennerod (County of Westerwald, Germany)
dsc01647_thumbnailAfter almost 11 years of operation the thermal air treatment unit (Regenerative Thermal Oxidation - RTO) of the MBT Rennerod needs to be refurbished entirely.
After the successful refurbishment of the 1st. RTO line in 2008 WasteTec has been assigned in March 2011 to accomplish the refurbishment of the 2nd line on a turn key basis.

  • WasteTec has been assigned for the planning of their second large scale MT-SRF-facility (200,000tpa) dedicated to feed a 250,000 tpa CFB-boiler plant in Northern Germany. 
seitenansicht_thumbAfter having successfully completed the planning assignment for the 200,000 tpa MT-SRF plant "Weidenhausen" in the year 2009 WasteTec has been assigned by the company EBS Concept GmbH to go for the second such project located in Glückstadt, Northern Germany. The new planning order also goes for a 200,000 tpa Mechanical waste treatment facility (MT-facility) dedicated to produce specified SRF out of different types of waste. The SRF will be utilized in a modern 250,000 tpa W2E-CFB boiler plant located next to both the MT-facility and a paper mill where the produced energy is used.

  • Thermal drying facility "RABA Chemnitz" (100,000 tpa) will be technically optimized on the basis of a technical proposal provided by WasteTec 
Luftaufnahme RABA Chemnitz In April of 2010 the public owned company "Abfallwirtschaftsverband Chemnitz Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH (AWVC VG)" has tendered the technical optimization of their waste treatment MPT-plant which has been in operation since 2005. The tendered request aimed at an enhancement of both operational flexibility and product quality as well as on lowering operational costs which are quite high due to the high consumption of natural gas needed for the drying of waste.
The WasteTec proposal has been chosen to be the most interesting and competitive one. Total investment of the proposed scheme will be around 2,5 million Euro.

  • Owner operated municipal enterprise "Eigenbetrieb Abfallwirtschaft und Stadtreinigung der Stadt Darmstadt (EAD)" have assigned  WasteTec to refurbish their In-vessel composting facility  "Darmstadt-Kranichstein"  
ka-kranichstein_thumbEnd of May 2010 WasteTec has been assigned by EAD to refurbish the 18,000 tpa in-vessel composting facility which has been successfully in operation since 1991!
Comprehensive repair work has to be done to refurbish 16 in-vessel composting units as well as 2 in-vessel biofilter units. A new programming and visualistaion accomplished by WasteTec ensures a higher efficiency of the computer controlled composting process. 
This assignment is the eights of its type which has been successfully accomplished by WasteTec since 2005.

  • E.ON Mitte Natur GmbH an affiliate of the German Energy supplier E.ON AG have assigned WasteTec to work as a General Planner for their new 45,000 tpa Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facilities in "Stausebach", Hesse (Germany) 
E.ON Mitte Natur GmbHThe new AD plants one deciacted to treat 30,000 tpa of SSO-waste and the other to treat 15,000 tpa of renewable raw materials such as corn will be built at the "Stausebach" site in Hessia where E.ON is running a composting facility which was retrofitted by WasteTec in 2006. Produced biogas will be upgraded on-site to NG standard and will be fed into the local NG grid owned by E.ON. The WasteTec assignment comprises general planning services necessary to get all facilities operational by the summer of 2012.

  • German county of "Bergstraße" assigned WasteTec to accomplish reengineering and refurbishment of the already existing composting facility "Lampertheim" 
dsc06259_pop_up By the end of July 2009 WasteTec has been assigned by the county of Bergstraße (ZAKB) to technically refurbish the in vessel compsting plant which is operating since 1992. The turn key assignment comprises comprehensive technical alterations of the composting process such as ventilation equipment and process control. The assignment is aimed at a less complicated and more stable composting process and a reduction of costs of maintanance.

  • WasteTec to deliver a trial unit for the biological drying of waste to Singapore
Drying trial unit In January of 2009 WasteTec has been assigned by the Singaporian company to deliver a trial unit for the biological drying of waste (MSW) to Singapore on a turn key basis.
WasteTec has also been assigned to supervise drying trials for a couple of weeks on site in order to define conditions for an effective drying process. The findings can be used for the engineering of a full scale facility.

  • Italien composting facility "Fusina" near Venice gets converted into a biological drying plant 
Composting facility "Fusina" near Venice The Italian composting facility Fusina near the city of Venice is to be converted into a biological drying facility in order to generate RDF out of MSW. The technical conversion is accompanied by a doubling of the former capacity up to 100.000 t/y.
WasteTec has been assigned to by the Italian company Ladurner to perform comprehensive engineering services related to the biological drying process including process control and electrical engineering.

  • RDF-facility in Weidenhausen (120.000 t/y) has been finalised as scheduled
    ma_weidenhausen_pop_up After a 9 month construction period and 12 weeks of commissioning the mechanical waste treatment facility in Weidenhausen, Hessia has come to regular operations as scheduled. In December 2007 WasteTec has been assigned by the company B+F Umwelt GmbH to act as a general planner for the project and to supervise plant comissioning. It is one of the rare plants in Germany designated to generate RDF out of MSW for a fluidised bed boiler only by means of mechanical treatment and sorting steps.

  • WasteTec get the follow-up order to refurbish the composting facility "Lohfelden" (county of Kassel) 
Composting units After WasteTec successfully refurbished the first part of the facility in 2008 the follow up order for the second part of the facility was given to Wastetec in January 2009. As with the first part accomplished in 2008 the follow up order comprise comprehensive refurbishment of the ventilation system of nine composting units and one biofilter in conjunction with the exchange of the process control system from IFM to Siemens S7.

  • Thermal air treatment unit (RTO) of MBT Rennerod (County of Westerwald, Germany) needs to be refurbished 
dsc01647_thumbnailAfter 8 years of operation the thermal air treatment unit (regenerative thermal  oxidation - RTO) of the MBT Rennerod needs to be refurbished entirely.
WasteTec has been assigned by the facility operator to accomplish the refurbishment on a turn key basis. After completion of the work WasteTec has to guarantee compliance with the stringent German emission standard, 30. BImSchV.

  • WasteTec Staff has been expanded – since 1st. of July of 2008 Mr. Marcus Gollub has been in charge of the department “Machine and processing equipment”
Based on a lasting good order situation and lots of new tasks it has become necessary for WasteTec to expand their team. Mr. Gollub is a very experienced methods engineer. He has worked for many years in the fields of MBT planning and MBT R&D. Due to his function as a works superintendent for two German MBT’s (Dresden & Trier) he gathered comprehensive practical experience in facility operation too. We are pleased that he has become member of our engineering team.
 
 
  • In vessel composting facility  „Cobble Hill“, Canada (Vancouver Island) gets new process control

    picture040-0_230_150In November of 2007 Waste Tec has been assigned by a Canadian waste management company to install a new process control (Siemens S- 7) together with a new process visualisation system for the in-vessel composting facility "Cobble Hill" on Vancouver Island. The modern composting facility is the only one of it's type in the Vancouver area. WasteTec has also been assigned to refurbish the facility technically.

  • Engineering services for a new scrap metal recycling facility in Salzgitter, Germany 


    dsc01570a230_150WasteTec has been assigned to accomplish full engineering services for a unique metal recycling facility in Salzgitter, Germany. By means of special sorting and separation steps the facility can "produce" highly valuable metal fractions (e.g. copper, brass, zinc and aluminum) out of different metal-enriched waste streams with a purity of up to 99%.   • Full engineering services for a new mechanical treatment RDF-facility in "Weidenhausen", Germany
weidenh_montage_neutra_aThe german company B+F environment GmbH is realising a new RDF-facility and has assigned WasteTec  to accomplish all necessary engineering services for this plant.
Beginnining in 2009 120,000 t/y MSW as well as commercial and bulky waste will be treated mechanically in order to produce a defined RDF for the new 250,000 t/y fluidised bed boiler in Witzenhausen which will come into operation in September 2008.
